Hi, I’m Christine.
Faith in Grey Places is where I explore the Bible through creative writing, usually poetry, prose and drama.
I live in the UK, play the piano and have frequently led worship at church. I’m happily married but (by choice) we don’t have kids. I have a desk job and more recently I’ve taken up studying part time for a masters in theology.
From a young age, I’ve loved reading the Bible and writing creatively — this site is an expression of both these passions.
When I write, I pick a theme and then run with it, producing something each week in a similar format. Emails go out every Sunday morning (my time!) and you can sign up to get these each week or quarterly. Sign up here.
You are welcome to use these materials in worship—and if you do, I’d love to know! Please touch in via the contact form below.
I’ve found that social media algorithms tend to favour controversies, explainers or entertainment; these can be helpful, but they don’t necessarily nourish or water the soul. Meanwhile, inspirational memes can be formulaic.
I’m trying to do something different here. I’m looking for words and images that are grounded in our daily realities, yet reach deep inside and strengthen us.
If you have comments or suggestions, or would like to contribute, please get in touch.
Faith in Grey Places is the sister-site of my blog Light in Grey Places. You can read more detail about me and about my theology there.
